And just like that, a year has flown by and our baby girl is ONE. October 3, 2016 was the best day of our lives! I can still relive the day she was born so vividly in my mind, minute by minute from the second we were driving to the hospital (you can read my birth story here) – to the minute we got to meet her – all the way to today. “The days are long but the years are short” – this quote is so true
Brooklyn finally got her first tooth a few weeks ago! She is taking small steps while holding onto the table and couch, walking will be soon! She moves at lightening speed when she crawls and will not sit still for more than 10 seconds. Actually, I take that back. The only time she will sit still is in her stroller. She LOVES to go for walks! We love to take her to the park by our house and push her on the swing. She is still deciding if she likes the slide.
Brooklyn is eating grilled cheese, Amy’s frozen pizza, black beans, zucchini, strawberries, kiwi, raspberries, quinoa veggie burgers, pita bread, string cheese, greek yogurt, oatmeal pancakes, grilled chicken, turkey, quesadillas, apple sauce and cheerios. We are in the process of switching her to cups from bottles and she is on Whole Milk now!
She loves our dog, Mia. Mia is a good sport and lets Brooklyn poke her, pull her ears and even play with her toys. They play tug of war and Brooklyn thinks it’s just the funniest thing in the world.
Brooklyn is the happiest baby. She is always laughing or smiling, loves to play peak a boo, loves to clap her hands, loves the Tunes with Tim music class at Monica + Andy and also loves the remote control. We will find the most random shows DVR’d from Brooklyn pushing the buttons.
She says a variation of mama and dada. She knows how to wave goodbye and waves at everyone, including the cashiers at the grocery store when they say bye to her. It’s the cutest thing!
Brooklyn, we are so lucky to be your parents. You won’t understand the type of love we have for you until you have your own children some day. Happy Birthday! We can’t wait to celebrate this weekend!
My friend Andrea with Chicago Andrea Creative took these cake smash photos at the beach! Even though Brooklyn hated her cake and cried every time I tried to put her hand in it (you can read more about how I made the cake here), it was still so much fun! We are hoping this weekend at her party she will get into the cake a little more!
